General Information about Nepal

Travelling to Nepal

Kathmandu is well connected by air. Direct flights are operated from Thimpu, Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Bangalore, Varanasi, Chengdu, Lasha, Dhaka, Karachi, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Shanghai, Osaka, Kualalumpur, Dubai, Doha, Abhu Dabhi, Vienna and Amsterdam. Connecting flights all over the world are provided by operating airlines.

International airlines operating scheduled flights to Kathmandu are Royal Nepal Airlines, Druk Air, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Sahara Airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Thai Airways, China Southern, Qatar Airways, Gulf Airlines, Martin Airand Austrian Airlines.

Daily Connecting flights from London and most of western Europe is available via Doha. Connecting flights to Asia Pacific region is readily available on Thai Airways. Direct flights to North America is available through New Delhi.

The best gateway airlines to Nepal are Thai Airways (from East) and Qatar Airways (from West). Both Airlines fly daily into Kathmandu. Five Airlines fly between cities in India and Nepal.

Early booking is suggested to avoid problems. A travel desk will be available during the conference period for sightseeing tours.
